Growing Guiding Skills Day

Growing Guiding Skills Day
The theme for this years growing guiding skills day is 'Everyone plays a part in Growth/Our Growth, Our responsibility/Growing together'. This event is open to all volunteers in Girlguiding South West England.

Our region growing guiding skills day has been designed to help volunteers with all things recruitment and retention. Throughout the day each participant will have the choice of three workshops to attend. There will be region & national updates as well as marketplace stalls for the opportunity to talk to some of the regions lead volunteers.

During the day all attendees will be working in a small group or pair to complete a recruitment and retention plan.

Workshops

Girl recruitment through schools - Practical tools to attract new girls through school engagement.

Giving girls the best experience - Improve girl retention and create units where girls are excited to stay and bring friends along.

Flexible guiding, using volunteers strengths - Learn how to keep volunteers engaged, motivated, and feeling part of the team.

Involving parents - Learn how to nurture parents into potential volunteers, expanding the adult volunteer pool.

Recruitment stall ideas for local events - Practical tips for promoting units and recruiting at events.

Community recruitment - Learn how to use community connections and local knowledge to attract both girls and volunteers, and identify practical opportunities for growth within your area.

Keeping a sustainable unit - Learn how to build resilient, sustainable units by creating supportive team environments, retaining volunteers, and planning for the future.
