The Level 2 training course is aimed at members 18+ wishing to extend their existing walking skills, to learn how to lead groups safely in open country, and work towards gaining a Girlguiding walking qualification. The course will include both theory and practical outdoor sessions.
Bookings are open to volunteers from all regions within Girlguiding.

Remember that on the weekend we will be outside for much of the time in whatever the weather gives us, that there will be physical effort involved, and we will be out in the evening undertaking night navigation. It is a full, busy but fun weekend.

The course fee is £130 to cover food, accommodation and training. Upon booking you can chose to pay a deposit of £35 or the full price. The balance will be due by 31 July 2026.
A mandatory 2 hour Zoom training session will also be included. This will be offered on Tuesday 8th or Wednesday 9th September 2026.
The weekend is fully catered. Accommodation is in shared dormitories on bunk beds.

You will be responsible for your own travel arrangements, including your onward journey if you are using public transport. A list of participants, including email addresses will be circulated, and a WhatsApp group will be created to, amongst other things, ask for, and offer lifts. If you do not wish your details to be circulated to other participants, then please indicate this when you do your booking.
By car: Dartmoor Activity Centre, Broadleas, Haytor, Dartmoor National Park, Newton Abbot TQ13 9XS
By rail: Newton Abbott is closest to the centre, but Tiverton Parkway can be more convenient as it is close to the M5.
By plane: The closest airport is Exeter.
