Come and join other volunteers from across the Region for a weekend at Pax Lodge.
The cost includes accommodation and breakfast for the weekend and a special event badge. You will need to book and pay for your travel to and from Pax Lodge.
Accommodation - Pax Lodge does not offer single rooms. Rooms have single beds or bunked beds in them. All volunteers will be sharing rooms of 2-7 people. Please let us know when booking if there are particular volunteers you wish to share with, we will then do our best to accommodate your request however we cannot guarantee it.
A packed lunch can also be ordered for £8 per day. This includes sandwiches which you can make yourself from a range of fillings such as meats, cheeses and spreads. A juice carton, and snacks including fruit, crisps, and a packet of biscuits.
Upon booking you will also be given the opportunity to by a region neckerchief.
The programme for the weekend is designed to be very flexible and self-led. Please book as an individual, however, why not talk to other volunteers from your County/Island and take part in one or more of the following activities.
Flag Ceremony - We would like everyone to attend the flag ceremony at 9am on Saturday morning, where the Pax Lodge and World flags are raised. This is free for everyone to join in. Please wear guiding uniform to this. There will then be the opportunity to take group photo afterwards.
The below activities are available to book and pay upon arrival at Pax Lodge. This will be on a first come first serve basis.
Pinning Ceremony - Each of the World Centres has their own unique pin which can only be purchased by being at the centre in person. Receive yours during the flag ceremony. £3 per person
Pax Lodge Challenge – Take on a challenge to find out more about the history and running of Pax Lodge. Each participant receives a booklet of questions, the answers to which can be found around the ground floor of the building and through talking to staff and volunteers. Upon successful completion you will receive a badge. £5 per person
Challenges around London – Choose one of 6 themed challenges to guide you around some of the most famous places across London and earn a badge as you go! Each participant receives a booklet of instructions with a set of locations to visit and short tasks to complete whilst you are there. Each challenge takes around 6 hours to complete, but we recommend allocating a full day to allow time to explore each location!
Challenges available: Monopoly, Harry Potter, Paddington, Geocaching or Turn Back Time. £5 per person
